Our first time at Daytona's fall rally was a great time ! The weather couldn't have been better. Sunny and mid to upper 80's all week. The fall rally has alot less people short lines and all the same great places to hang out , like the Iron Horse Saloon and Destination Daytona. We went to the beach 4 days and the surf was spectacular with 10 to 15 feet waves. The ride down and back was also great as the fall colors through the Great Smoky Mountains were brilliant ! Looking forward to going back , possibly fall 2009.

The Anniversary of Harley Davidson and HOG was an event that was poorly planned and produced more frustration than good times. From long lines to get food, to the crowds infringing on every space they could get a hold of, the event was one that makes me claim, "never again".
That being said of the Harley events, the trip itself made for some of the best rides with friends that took us off the beaten path. An example was riding off to hook up with Brenda. This was a great ride on some nice roads that lead us to Elkhorn. Meeting at the local pub, we sat and had a few laughs before we embarked on our long way around to Milwaukee for the evening events. The day was perfect unitl, you guessed it, we pulled into Milwaukee. We never did hook up with everyone, but seeing the mess that was there, Nancy and I decided to ride back to Racine and do room service.
When it was all over, I stepped back to think about the trip. We had 12 people, all from our own home town, that got together and had a great time in the Milwaukee area. With these good friends all riding together, we could have done this from home!

Saturday Aug. 16th is a big biker bash at Signature H-D. They have a bike show and poker run as well as live music. I will be entering the chopper in the show. It is also the birthday of our very own Great White Buffalo Jeff ! So lets celebrate !

Just a reminder that today July 16th is Ride to Work Day. Get on your motorcycle and ride! This is to promote motorcycling all around the world. It shows that motorcycles are used for more than just recreation. Enjoy your Ride to Work day!

This Fri. , Sat. , Sun. , is the Wauseon Antique bike show and swap meet. Jeff and I are planning on going on Fri. We have attended this show for a number of years now and it is a good one. Departure time is a question mark at this time but we will be going on Fri. Hope to see you there.

This Monday , June 30th is Million Mile Monday for the Harley Owners Group. You can log your miles on the HOG website and receive a certificate that says you participated. I am open to riding all day or to lunch or whatever I am also going to bike nite at the Carleton Hotel if anybody is interested. Call me and " Let's Ride !"

Kellie and I are having a cookout on the 4th of July at 4:00 pm. Beer and Brats and Dogs. If you want to go for a ride first , let me know and I will put a route together and a time. This will be a good time to discuss the West Virginia ride and raft trip.( the departure time , route ,etc.) Hope to see all the Farts!

Kellie and I are going to ride to Seneca Caverns in Bellvue if anybody is interested give us a call so we can find out what day is good for everybody. It is a good day trip for those who don't get alot of vacation time. We will visit the caverns and maybe ride to Shifter's in Sandusky for dinner before coming home. Call , e-mail or blog to set up a day and time.

Al Guelli and I are riding to Norwalk on Fri. June 27th for the Summit Racing NHRA drag race. We will be leaving about 11:00 am from our buddy Elmo's house anyone interested call me for directions.
